Sandy Point, Washington is a waterfront community just south west of Ferndale, Washington. The Sandy  Point community offers many homes on the waterfront with exceptional views and sunsets to the west looking out over Georgia Straits. Additionally there are many views to the east with fantastic views of beautiful Mt. Baker.
Sandy Point is unique in that they actually have their own boat moorage thats well protected inside a canal system. Most of the homes that are built along the canal also have docks and private moorage for their personal boats. Boaters really have an advantage being able to launch their boats from Sandy Point, which allows great access to the San Juan Islands, including neighboring Orcas Island. Boats that are launched from near-by Bellingham Harbor have to travel at least a half hour by boat in order to get out to the area where Sandy Point is located.
Sandy Point Marina At the North end of the Sandy Point harbor, the marina provides secure moorage for about 60 boats and also has a launching ramp and gas dock for members. A marina clubhouse includes a meeting room and restroom facilities, and a covered BBQ area hosts a variety of outdoor events. A secure storage facility for boats and trailers is available as well.
Golf at Sandy Point - Only Sandy Point community members and guests can golf on this beautiful 9 hole golf course, with its par 3's. A second set of tees allows for 18 holes. The course has great views of Lummi Bay, Mt. Baker and San Juan Islands which ads to a great day of golfing. The course is mostly flat, offers a certain degree of challenge, and water hazards come in to play on seven of the nine holes. This really is a great little course with nice Bellingham area views!
Sandy Point Clubhouse - The clubhouse is located next to the golf course and features a large outdoor heated pool for Summer time use, lifeguard on duty. Members can rent the upper room for parties and get togethers, even has a kitchen.
The area school age kids attend schools in the Ferndale School District. Older kids attend Vista Middle school, and Ferndale High School.
To get to Sandy Point Shores, take I-5 to the Slater Road exit, then go west on Slater Road over the Nooksack River, past the Silver Reef Casino. From The casino on the corner of Slater Rd, and Haxton, Sandy Point is about three miles until you reach the beautiful shores of Sandy Point and it's peninsula. Once you get close to Sandy Point, the road changes its name to Neptune Beach. As you come down Beach Way to the beach, take a left onto Sucia Dr and you will be at Sandy Point Shores.
